Sorry scales, it’s time for a break up

It’s not me, it’s you!

How is your relationship with the scales? Do you get obsessed with your weight? Do you wish you could hand it over to God more?

In this video I share 3 ways that our relationship with the scales can be unhealthy and give you some suggestions to help you to break away.

How does the word scales make you feel? Positive or negative? Filled with dread or excitement?

They can be really unhelpful!!

People can feel really good about how they are doing with healthy living and ‘dieting’ and then hop on the scales and…..bam!! :-((((

So there are 3 reasons why you might want to reconsider your relationship with the scales.

  1. What do you want from the scales when you step onto them? Like any relationship if the scales aren’t going to give you what you want then is it worth it? Is it time to look somewhere else for affirmation or encouragement?
  2. Your body doesn’t perform on demand, it doesn’t know that you’re about to get on the scales…you get on with great hope but your body doesn’t know that a snapshot is being taken of where it is at…it might not perform the way you would like it to.
  3. Do the scales encourage you to make unhealthy comparisons? Who says what your ‘magic number’ is that will make you feel better about yourself? As Christians we should be looking to God for his opinion not a chart or a comparison.

In this video I dive into these reasons in more depth and give you some ideas to start breaking away.

Is it time to ditch the scales and get a healthier balance back?
