3 Ways to Get Yourself Out of a Rut

We’ve all been there…. we’re not sure where our motivation has gone and it just seems too hard to get started again….and we’re not even sure if we really want to!

In this latest video I share 3 Ways to Get Yourself out of a Rut!

‘Ruts’ can happen in lots of different areas of life and can affect our potential and our health and so it is important to get out of them as quick as you can before they become big gaping holes!

So there are 3 ways to get going again:

  1. You need to get yourself out – others can help you but they can’t drag a dead weight. You need to take the first step. What could this be?
  2. Think Happy – enjoyment is key to get you moving again
  3. Believe that Change can happen for you, this is one of the biggest stumbling blocks

In this video I dive into these solutions in more depth and give you some practical ideas to get out of those ruts quicker.

  • Find freedom
  • Feel better
  • Reach your goals

It’s time to get out of that rut!

DEBORAH FORD says

Very helpful, I am in a rut,I tend to dwell in the past and this can be a very unhealthy downward spiral. Help yourself, as you say- we have to take the first step. It is easy to be down at the moment but I felt strongly last week to be grateful and build on what you do have, which is so much(most important your faith), rather than brooding, often on what are insignificant things, in the long term, that you may feel you have lost. God sees the bigger picture, need to trust Him and move on! Enjoyment / passion for our activity is key, or we set ourselves up to fail, and definitely belief (I can do all things..........). There has been alot of talk recently about resilience, the ability to bounce back and face difficulties, this is so much easier if we commit to God and to look after our minds and our bodies and declutter our lives.

Helpful ways to address my negative thinking. I specially value the prod to treat myself as I would a friend: if I can believe it for them, why don't I believe it for me....? As ever, very clearly and encouragingly articulated. Thanks Gaynor

MISS MARIA ANN HAMBIDGE says

I am struggling to do anything to be honest, I constantly struggle with depression and anxiety and my mind is so full of many things that I feel I should be doing but I can't concentrate on anything because there's just too many things that I can't focus on one. I actually feel I wish I could wipe my mind clear, get rid of everything in there and start again. How can I do this? Can you help?

Bless you, have you tried to talk through everything on your mind with someone or doing a massive brain dump onto a sheet of paper? Is anyone helping you with your anxiety and depression?

Thanks Gaynor...(you're looking really well btw!). Think I must be in a rut as I even put off watching the vid! Such good points. For me I think it's the third issue and ties in with the scales vid and change of routine with lockdown and home schooling and health changes. It seems that whatever I do works for a while then something happens to derail me - like the things above - and then it's hard to get going again. Blah! Never mind. Be good to join in with the resistance session next week. Can't do Mon eve as got a course on healing!
