It’s January, and we’re a few days into 2025—how are those New Year’s resolutions going? Some resolutions I’ve heard recently have made me smile: – Learn to play 10 seconds of every song on the guitar. – Create a spreadsheet for absolutely everything in life. – See how many mugs of tea I can make before the kettle needs descaling. – Finally crack the “perfect” sourdough recipe. What about you? Did you set any quirky or serious goals this year? Or perhaps you avoided resolutions altogether because they feel like pressure? Wherever you’re at, remember: January is still a brilliant time to reflect and refocus on your health. Here’s why: 1. January is a mental reset button. Sure, it’s just another month, but it feels different. There’s a collective “fresh start” energy in the air, and you can tap into it. You don’t need perfection or a fancy plan to move forward—you just need today. Take one small step, and let it build. Imagine looking back next January and thinking, “I’m so glad I started.” 2. It’s the season of prioritising what matters. January is perfect for taking stock. – Where are you spending your time, energy, and money? – Are those investments helping you build the life and health you want? It’s easy to get distracted by things that don’t serve God and aren’t what you are meant to be doing. This is your chance to course-correct and start putting higher priority on the things that matter. 3. The New Year buzz is your secret weapon. Whether you love resolutions or hate them, there’s no denying the camaraderie that January brings. People everywhere are setting goals and chasing change. Why not ride that wave? Find a friend, a group, or a coach to cheer you on. Use the collective motivation to get momentum in your health journey. Ready to move forward this year?
