At our recent retreat and in our last Saturday morning reflection, Coffee, and Conversation we have been talking about developing greater intimacy with God. For this week’s blog we wanted to share some verses and songs that you might find helpful to use in your own quiet time with God, to help develop your relationship with him:

Jeremiah 33:3

 ‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’

Psalm 139

For the director of music. Of David. A psalm.

1 You have searched me, Lord,
    and you know me.
2 You know when I sit and when I rise;
    you perceive my thoughts from afar.
3 You discern my going out and my lying down;
    you are familiar with all my ways.
4 Before a word is on my tongue

Philippians 3:7-8

But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ.

Colossians 3:1

 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.

Revelation 3:20

Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.

John 5:39-40

You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me, yet you refuse to come to me to have life.
