Affirmations for the Kitchen
In a recent blog we talked about the real struggle many of us have with emotional eating and how it can make you doubt whether you can trust your body to tell you what you need.
The good news is that is is possible to break away from this harmful habit and to relearn how to trust our bodies and make choices based on our true needs.
One tip we shared for when you are in the kitchen, feeling emotional and find yourself reaching for food, is to test that you are having what you really want, and not just what you think you want in the moment. It can be helpful to pause and ask yourself some questions before you have that snack, things like: “What would you like to feel like after this snack?” or “Are you hungry or just bored?”
To help you, we have created some affirmation flash cards you can print out and stick on your fridge or cupboards. They are visual prompts to check in with yourself before you reach for that snack.
